Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 10 October 2025
1) Who we are
eBook Crafter (the “Plugin”, “Service”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a WordPress plugin that helps you combine WordPress content into an eBook and export it in PDF format. Website: ebookcrafter.com. Contact: support at ebookcrafter.com.
2) What this agreement covers
By installing, activating, or using the Plugin, creating an account, or purchasing a license, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
3) Accounts, licensing & updates
- Licenses are sold via Freemius (our payment/licensing provider). A license is tied to a site count (1‑site, 5‑site, 25‑site).
- While your license is active, you receive plugin updates and standard support.
- You may not share, resell, or sublicense the license key.
- The license key controls access to updates and support only and does not alter your rights under the GPL‑2.0 license for the Plugin’s code.
4) Free trial, billing & refunds
- We offer a 14‑day free trial. You can cancel any time during the trial to avoid charges.
- If you continue beyond the trial, your selected plan will be charged.
- After the first charge, you have an additional 14‑day refund window. We’ll issue a full refund if you contact us within that period and deactivate/remove the Plugin. Refunds are not available after this window.
- Subscriptions renew automatically (annual unless clearly stated otherwise). You may cancel auto‑renew at any time from your account before the renewal date.
- Taxes (e.g., GST/VAT) may apply based on your location and will be added at checkout.
5) What the plugin does (and doesn’t)
- The Plugin assembles WordPress posts/pages/custom posts into an eBook and generates a PDF using the Dompdf library.
- PDF rendering has technical limitations (fonts, CSS/paged media features, complex layouts). We do not guarantee pixel‑perfect output for all themes or content.
- The Plugin does not host or permanently store your content; it processes content already on your WordPress site to produce a downloadable file.
6) Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Plugin to generate or distribute unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or harmful content; to violate third‑party rights; to misuse or attempt to bypass licensing, rate limits, or security; or to reverse engineer the Plugin except where permitted by law.
7) Support scope
- Support is provided for installation, licensing, updates, and documented Plugin features.
- Support does not include custom development, content editing, or server administration (unless explicitly agreed in writing).
- We may ask for temporary admin or staging access to troubleshoot; you are responsible for backups.
8) Third‑party services
- We rely on Freemius for licensing, subscriptions, and secure payments.
- We rely on Dompdf for PDF generation inside your WordPress environment.
- Your use of third‑party services is subject to their terms and policies.
9) Intellectual property
- Your content: You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a limited right to process your content solely to provide the Service (e.g., generating PDFs, diagnostics).
- Plugin code (GPL): The Plugin’s source code is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2.0 (GPL‑2.0) or later. You may use, copy, modify, and redistribute the Plugin in accordance with the GPL. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights granted to you by the GPL.
- Updates/support keys: Any license key or subscription you purchase only governs access to updates, support, and certain online services. It does not restrict the GPL rights in the Plugin’s code.
- Templates, brand & non‑code assets: Our trademarks, brand elements, website content, marketing materials, and any design templates/assets bundled with the Plugin may be licensed separately (non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable upon breach) and are not licensed under the GPL unless expressly stated. Third‑party libraries and assets remain subject to their own licenses.
10) Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it. By using the Plugin or website, you agree to our Privacy Policy.
11) Security
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect our systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for securing your WordPress site and backups.
12) Warranties & disclaimers
THE PLUGIN AND WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLUGIN WILL BE ERROR‑FREE OR COMPATIBLE WITH EVERY THEME/PLUGIN/ENVIRONMENT.
13) Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
14) Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach the ToS, abuse the Service, or if required by law. You may stop using the Plugin at any time and cancel auto‑renew to avoid future charges.
15) Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you (e.g., via email or an in‑app notice). Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
16) Governing law
Unless otherwise required by your local law, these terms are governed by the laws of India. Venue: Pune, Maharashtra, India.
